Responsibilities

  • Develop and keep up strategic business relationships with Oncology departments and practices.
  • Interactions will include Oncologists, Hematologists, Pharmacists, Nurses, Executive level staff, Department heads and Managers, and various other support staff.
  • Business relationships will focus on increasing education about product benefits and risks consistent with the approved label, developing new business, improving how resources are used, and growing sales and market share by meeting the sales plan for the assigned Oncology product and uses.
  • Use chances to understand and address customer needs. Build strong relationships that provide market information and support the development of compliant and new programs and activities.
  • Build and keep relationships across accounts that lead to chances to help patients, doctors, and other healthcare professionals in the area.
  • Consistently work with in-house and/or cross-franchise leaders, and cooperate with those partners to find, design, or adjust suitable approaches and tactics that show off resources within the area.
  • Give effective on-label technical and scientific presentations using approved data to properly show the benefits and risks of the product, resulting in achieving the sales quota.
  • Act as the main US Commercial contact with targeted accounts in the assigned area.
  • Work with all AbbVie and any co-promotion partners, including Brand and Strategic Marketing, the GPO team, Thought Leader Liaisons, MSLs, and contracted SPPs, to give excellent customer support for doctors to benefit their patients.
  • This support should include site support and handling any possible customer problems.
  • Build, put in place, share, and regularly update strategic and tactical business plans for targeted accounts.
  • In cooperation with sales leadership and other suitable AbbVie or Co-Promote partners, help with site physician/treatment team training on the approved and safe use of AbbVie’s products.
  • Watch and report sales progress.
  • Give regular updates to all internal and external partners, where applicable.
  • Act as AbbVie’s main contact for each account.
  • Respond to or direct the customer to the right service or contact for their questions or requests and actively follow up.
  • Take the lead in organizing and making sure any needed or requested support is given quickly and to the account’s satisfaction by the best person within AbbVie or the co-promote partner.
  • Go to and actively take part in local clinician boards, societies, and other HCP meetings when it makes sense.
  • Represent AbbVie and assigned products at these events, building or improving new and existing relationships.
  • Send key information, developments, or findings to internal partners/stakeholders. All communication in these settings must be on-label.
  • Stay up-to-date on all clinical, market, and payer developments, trends, and issues specific to oncology and the disease areas.
  • Finish all required AbbVie training and keep to all company rules and OEC/Legal procedures.
  • Within assigned accounts and the area, look for important information and clearly explain what it means for our business and for our customers’ businesses.
  • Move knowledge to the right internal partners and use standard methods that have real value for customers and patients across assigned uses/brands to help the area and AbbVie Oncology.
  • Set up and keep a complete understanding of the approved product label and disease state knowledge for useful work with customers.
  • Make the best use of both outside and inside data, resources, and tools to find sales chances and program strategy for customers in assigned territories.
  • With approval from legal/OEC, actively take part in relevant organizational programs in local markets.
  • Develop a strong command of available selling resources and tools, fully showing those resources to support selling plans and make the biggest difference.
  • Meeting health care industry representative credentialing requirements is an important part of the job to get access to facilities and organizations in the assigned territory. These requirements may include, but are not limited to, background checks, drug screens, and proof of immunization or vaccination for different diseases.

Requirements

  • Basic: Bachelor’s degree.
  • Business savvy: analytical ability to look at different sets of data using many tools and define account/program strategies that drive business goals.
  • Ability to show an understanding of how to successfully meet customer needs in a complex setting through forward-looking, new strategies that match company and customer goals.
  • Shown leadership skills; ability to lead without direct authority.
  • Has experience successfully developing teams on complex projects or challenges to get results.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Persistence and drive with a strong history of succeeding in a hard setting.
  • Must drive a personal auto, company car or truck, or a powered piece of material handling equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Oncology, Specialty, or other pharma experience.
  • Account Management experience in any industry.
  • Specialty Pharmacy experience.
  • Healthcare industry experience, especially working with patients or advising healthcare companies.
  • People management or other leadership experience.
  • MBA or other advanced degree.

Salary
The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be changed in the future.
