Trainee Software Engineer (Remote)

Responsibilities:

• Investigate and integrate open-source software components to create or improve cloud products based on open-source frameworks.
• Be part of a squad, working on new features and bug fixing for the product group associated with the squad.
• Write Python or Java code to improve open-source tools.
• Integrate or create Helm Charts for deployment in Kubernetes.
• Perform automated deployments in a lab environment.
• Conduct troubleshooting activities with other areas.
• Participate in brief Scrum meetings or technical discussions.
• Develop product features.
• Take on the challenge of improving existing products and researching new technologies, such as K8S tools, Edge-Computing, 5G, SDN, etc.
• Generate proposals for product improvement and evolution.
• Perform bug fixing for products associated with the squad.
• Participate collaboratively in common tasks with other units.
• Collaborate and discuss in open-source communities, when applicable.
• Respect company guidelines, submit code via Git with clear commits, and document changes thoroughly.
• Meet work deadlines and delivery schedules, and respond promptly to messages on Slack and email.
• Actively participate in daily group meetings and meetings with broader teams, either within the area or cross-functional.

Requirements:

• Education: Recent graduates or those nearing completion of studies in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related fields.
• Experience:
  • Experience in software development (Python or Java).
  • Experience in software specification, design, and data structure.
• Specific Knowledge / Technical Requirements:
  • Proficiency in Linux (intermediate level).
  • Docker Intermediate Level (basic commands, docker-compose, etc.).
  • Advanced Python or Java. At least 1 year of proven professional or personal experience.
  • Knowledge of networking and networks (VLANs, routes, firewalls, etc.).
  • Understanding of network protocols, IP addressing, and routing concepts.
  • Basic understanding of networking from a programming perspective (interfaces, sockets, ports, etc.) and experience with common protocols, such as OSI stack, TCP, UDP, HTTP, and REST.
  • Experience with Shell scripting (Bash).
  • GIT: Intermediate level.
  • Basic knowledge of Virtualization (KVM) concepts (Installation and Configuration, virtual machine management, integration with other technologies).
• Language: Intermediate English (Writing/Reading).

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):
