Responsibilities
- Take ownership of a segment of Port's enterprise territories.
- Craft your own pipeline.
- Partner with Sales Engineers to secure deals ranging from five to seven figures.
- Lead pivotal deals, handle a diverse portfolio, and lay the groundwork for future teammates.
- Listen to and engage with engineers (primary buyers).
- Gracefully navigate technical dialogues and decision-making.
- Apply best sales practices, in-depth sales expertise, and passion to close significant deals quickly.
- Identify and nurture leads, turning them into high-impact opportunities.
- Build and strengthen relationships with buyers, understanding their specific needs and priorities to simplify and expedite the deal process.
- Lead negotiations and intricate procurement activities to close deals.
- Provide consistent and meticulous updates to the CRM with vital customer information, forecasts, and pipeline data.
- Craft and implement strategic plans to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals.
- Engage with technical stakeholders to uncover opportunities for Port to enhance engineering initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with sales engineers and the executive team to establish and nurture connections across all tiers of major accounts.
- Work with the Engineering team to consistently seek and champion the introduction of innovative features, underscoring Port's evolving value proposition.
Who you’ll work with
- Collaborate closely with Sales Engineers who bring genuine engineering expertise.
- Work with fellow Account Executives and the dedicated SDR team.
- Be deeply involved in sales forecasting meetings.
- Partner with sales leads, VP of Sales, CEO, and CTO to clinch landmark deals.
- Work cross-functionally with Marketing and Engineering departments.
Requirements
- Proven experience in achieving quotas, with a benchmark of $1M+ of ARR annually.
- Professional history reflecting consistent drive in activity, robust pipeline development, and quota accomplishments.
- 5-8 years of sales experience, especially in areas like developer tools, cloud infrastructure, databases, or business intelligence.
- Sales approach should lean towards solutions, demonstrating adeptness in managing multifaceted sales processes.
- Excellent presentation skills and equally commendable listening abilities.
- Organizational prowess and contact management proficiency are a must.
- Proactive in understanding technical nuances.
- Confident in steering technical conversations with stakeholders at all tiers.
